In January of 2001, I opened Newton Wellesley Children’s Doctor: a Solo pediatric practice. My main reason for establishing the Solo pediatric practice was to be able to provide genuinely individualized, high quality care for children in a family-oriented, traditional office setting. I wanted to become a Solo practitioner to provide children and families true continuity of care by being there every day to address their medical concerns. Each and every family has consistent access to me as their very own pediatrician, day and night. This, I truly believe, provides every child with the type of care old time family doctors afforded their patients, not so long ago.

In my over 25 years of pediatric practice, I have seen my little patients grow and thrive into adolescence and young adulthood. Being a Solo practitioner has blessed me with close connections to my patients. The beauty of a quality, long standing pediatrician/patient relationship is that it encourages my patients to see me as another trusted person to reach out to as well as a confidant for personal, medical concerns. This is why some of my patients continue to see me well into their college years and beyond. I continue to welcome this, as my patients often find it easier to address their medical concerns with the same doctor they’ve known growing up. Long term, close knit relationships with my patients are a huge part of my professional legacy as a pediatrician.
